Sunday in the Park With George Tickets for a Great Night on Broadway

Posted By: admin  //  Category: House Staging

Do you want to celebrate love, life, art, and the creative spirit? Book the Sunday in the Park with George tickets! This Broadway show is a touching tale that depicts the history of musical theatre. A five-time Olivier Award winner, which included Outstanding Musical Production, this play has been produced by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim.

Sunday in the Park with George tickets are selling at the speed of light since it began its previews at Studio 54 in New York City on January 18, 2008. It opened on February 14, 2008.

This Broadway play revolves around the personal as well as artistic life of George Seurat, a French Pointillist Painter. Seurat had no kids and no grandchildren. His common-law wife Madeleine delivered two sons. The second one was born after Seurat’s death. She was with Seurat at his deathbed and did not migrate to America.

The play harbors two parallel stories categorized under two acts. The first act depicts how George struggles to finish “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” while Dot, his mistress and model, tries her best to entice him towards her. The second act depicts the life of his grandson with the same name. He produces art works known as chromolumes. Ironically, he faces the same concerns that his grandfather had.

Directed by Sam Buntrock, “Sunday in the Park with George” was shown in the Menier Chocolate Factory of London in November, 2005. It was later transferred to West End staging headed by Jenna Russell and Daniel Evans. Both of them bagged Olivier Awards for their performances. The original production of this Broadway play starred Bernadette Peters and Mandy Patinkin. It was directed by Lapine. It opened on May2, 1984 at the Booth Theatre. The play gave 604 shows and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama the following year.

Although the play missed the Tony Award, it grabbed the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical. The star of original production bagged Tony Award nominations. For the much admired London production of this play, Friedman received a nomination while Quast obtained an Olivier Award.

“Sunday in the Park with George” is a touching story that leaves you thinking about love and life. You may even want to watch the show again and grasp its emotions deeply. It’s not wrong to regard this play as a melodrama with perfect performances from each character.

Perhaps that’s why Sunday in the Park with George tickets have become one of the most sought after things in the New York City. Everyone, right from kids to the elderly, have lined up at the box office to grab a seat at the theatre.

And if you don’t want to go the conventional way of buying tickets from the box office, there are ticketing services that book the tickets of your chosen show. They even deliver them at your doorstep. You can also book the tickets online.

Even if the house is running full, ticketing services have resources under their command that can arrange for Sunday in the Park with George tickets for you. You won’t be disappointed.

Home Theater Decorating Tips For Comfort And Function

Posted By: admin  //  Category: Home Decorating

A home theater needs to be functional before it’s anything else. Those who have put in the expense to build a “theater” in their home need to be sure the sound and visual and placement of seating is just right before they’ll delve into decorating, but when that time comes, there are some tips to add to the room aesthetically without taking away any of the functionality.

A room of this sort is bound to have floor speakers, and speakers that surround your peripherals and centrally located speakers for both the front and back of the sitting area. In some of the newer homes or the more expensive remodels, some, if not all, of these speakers may be placed in the walls of the home. Yet usually the floor speakers will remain out and near the television. The tops of which may be a prime opportunity for knickknacks when decorating. There may be shelving on the walls in this room for speakers or for remote controls. Those shelves are also a great place for decorative touches.

A typical theater room is designed something like this: The television is centrally located either mounted on the wall or standing just in front of it. There are floor speakers on either side of the television and another smaller speaker centrally located above the TV. There will be more speakers either mounted or on stands placed on either side of the seating area and one more speaker centrally located behind the seating area. Finally, there will be a special speaker called a subwoofer placed somewhere to the side of the seating area. The seating area is located around what some refer to as the “sweet spot” because during the action scenes in intense movies when the music swells, the vibrations of that sound are felt in the seating area. All of this is necessary for the functionality of the theater room. What’s left is what you have to decorate.

In order to keep the functionality of a theater room, you must realize that the room needs to be dark. This is no room for growing plants or bright colors painted on the wall. Rich earthy tones will work here. Along with this, keep knickknacks to a minimum. This room is for viewing the television, not your china collection. Do not place fragile things in this room. There will be much vibration in this room and that may cause a fragile item to fall from its perch and break. Keep your decor simple here. Use rugs to add color to the room and hang pictures to add depth to the walls. Do not clutter up this room with much more than this.

Before anything else, a home theater needs to be functional. If you’ll also entertain in this room, keep your decor to a minimum and use unbreakable items. Add color through the means discussed above and be okay with a sparsely decorated room. It will provide much enjoyment and sometimes simple really is best.

Is it okay to paint every room beige when you’re staging your house?

Posted By: admin  //  Category: House Staging

I’m painting and decorating my house, not specifically to sell, but with the thought in mind that we’re going to sell in a couple of years, so the house has to be decorated as we will stage it. I really don’t want to do much work when I’m trying to sell.

I found a color of beige (ralph lauren’s cottonwood) that I absolutely love and I just can’t find anything else that I love as much. I decided to paint the living room, basement, hall bathroom, hall, and master bedroom that color. I’m trying to decide on a color for the guest bedroom and I can’t find another color that I love as much. I would do a neutral color for the guest bedroom even if I didn’t do the beige. And I know that it’s good to go neutral when you’re selling, but the thing is, the living room, hallway, hallway bath, guest bedroom, and master bedroom are all right there together and you can stand in the hall and see them all from one spot. I did that on purpose because I didn’t want a different color in every room and it’s like the amazing technicolored house that doesn’t flow. but I’m worried that a buyer will come in and be like beige overload. What do you think, can you overdo it on beige when selling your house or should I break it up and paint the guest room a neutral sage or something?

It’s a pretty good idea to stay neutral, but make sure that the cottonwood color isn’t too dark and doesn’t date anything.

You might also want to consider putting it only in bright & sunny rooms and then using a lighter beige in darker area like hallways and even bedrooms. From what I can tell online, that color is similar to what I’m seeing in new homes right now, but it can be too dark or overbearing in rooms that don’t get enough sun. The thoroughbred line is very very very rish colors that can be overbearing.
It may also make the place a tiny bit boring without any variation. Maybe mix it up painting some darker rooms RL Deep Cream, and other rooms Garden Moss RL Number: ML14 , or Cowrie Shell RL Number: WW60 if you want to stay in true beiges.

how or who can i speak with about the home staging market in baltimore,md?

for Home Staging business

Call a local realty company and ask if any of their agents use a staging service and what the name(s) of the companies are. Then call those companies and see if you can either intern for them or if they are hiring.

You do need to have an idea of what and how to stage. I know there are schools now that offer this training.

Any ideas for a subscription to a good home decorating/renos magazine?

Posted By: admin  //  Category: Home Decorating

i do not subcribe. but follow whatever falls under my hand. if i need a specific info then i buy the how to do it — small booklet. magazines carry too many advertising to my taste. the best way to follow the renovation trend is to go their annual show — they hold one in every major city — and of course to visit often the major hardware stores– they have instituted "how to do" seminars — try to get into those presentations. hope it helps.

Staging a house correctly?

Posted By: admin  //  Category: House Staging

I was told that when you are selling your house and you have people due over with a realtor, you should leave some music on like jazz, etc. so that that house doesn’t have a dead silence or so that every little noise isn’t heard. Is that true? Also, is it ok to leave placemats on the kitchen island eating area or remove them? Thanks.

Ok I have bought quite a few houses and I find if music is on it is a big distraction. Leave it off and don’t bake any cookies or anything like that. Buyers become suspicious that you are trying to distract them from other smells or sounds. Just remove all unnecessary things and even family pictures should be gone. The buyer wants to imagine themselves living in your house so keep it plain and very simple. Get rid of any knick knacks and by all means set the table, not the island like you would if you were to have guests. If you only have an island leave it bare or fresh flowers in a vase. It looks nice. Turn on every light inside and outside. The house shows better. Put a Welcome mat outside and pay close attention to the street scape. How does the house look when you drive up to it. Would you want to go inside? Buyers get a feeling right away. Like the house or not just by driving up to it. Good luck I hope it all goes well for you.

How can I discipline my kitten…?

Posted By: admin  //  Category: House-Fluffing

of course, without hitting her, because thats just cruel.
But she needs to understand she is an indoor cat, and the busy road out the front of my house has big cars that wont stop while she plays on the road.
she is an indoor breed, so please dont say I should let her run free. i paid alot of money for her and im not going to let her get squashed on the road.
please, any suggestions on how to train my 3 month old ball of fluff to understand that she is an indoor cat… and thats just the way it is!

Hi there…Be sure to be guarded when opening and closing doors so your kitten doesn’t bolt outside. Consider startling by rattling a can of loose change where she cannot see you when she approaches the door to help her learn that the door is an unpleasant place to go near. If she sees you rattling the can she will not learn to be afraid of the door only the can that is making that horrible noise. So you have to time this properly and be not visible when doing this each time. Cats are naturally inquisitive so they will make several attempts to see if it was just a one time occurrence.

When kittens chew, lick objects consider a pet spray on deterrent you could try a pet-friendly product called Grannick’s Bitter Apple http://www.grannicks.com which is citrus and most cats find repulsive places that’s it’s applied. This product is available worldwide at most pet stores.

Another thing to consider is to use double-side sticky tape on the horizontal surfaces for awhile to train the cats to stay off. Cats dislike having their paws stuck to the tape and soon learn to avoid unpleasant areas. This method is beneficial because you don’t have to be physically there to catch them rather they learn for themselves, which is ideally a better method to train cats.

Appearance vs Reality. Do you find that others impression of your family’s life is different than it really

Posted By: admin  //  Category: Home-Fluffing

is. I married for 11 years and three young kids. We are in our early 30’s. She is a stay at home mom and I have a good management job that pays well. We are all healthy. The point / question is that I sometimes find it funny when someone comments on how they perceive our family. But as I think about it we put a lot of work into that perception. Kind of sad when you think about it. I know that in a lot of what we do one of the factors is normally how others will view it. As I get older I believe more and more that there everyone really is the same and most families are going through the same issues no mater what their income or social status. Money allows you to put better window dressing on it but that is all. So, how surprised do you think we would all be if just for a little while you could pull all the fluff aside and look into what was really going on in other people lives?

You seem to be admitting that you are, to a certain uncomfortable extent, putting on a show for the benefit of others. But since their comments are (I am supposing) pleasant, you feel like a fake? While I don’t think you have any reason to hide the wonderfully positive things you and your wife are doing for your children and your future, you can perhaps benefit from a reflection on your achievements. Recognize your hard work, but don’t reward yourself for it. Donate to a charity, but keep it to yourself. Make your family the topic of conversation, not your lifestyle. You have much more control over how people perceive you than you think. Good question.
