I’m insulating my home office with pink rolled fiberglass insulation. I’ve heard that insulation is more effective when it’s not compressed, so should I fluff and spread it before I place it?
Dead air movement, that is the goal. When insulation is compressed it cannot trap air and the "R" rating is reduced.
Do this little experiment. Place uncompressed insulation next to a heat source and measure the temperature of the air on the reverse side. Now compress that insulation and test the temperature again. Thermal pane window is trapping dead air between two sheets of glass. You did not mention if the insulation was wall or ceiling, but in any case be sure to deal with vapor barriers and condensation.
Seriously, is there anyone over the age of 21 or so who is into her?
I’m not saying she’s awful, but I don’t understand why some people seem to be obsessed with her. Her songs are typical pop fluff, her attempts at high fashion are laughable, and her voice is just ok, nothing to write home about.
What she’s doing isn’t original and has been done a lot better in the past: What’s the appeal?
Perez Hilton, Madonna, Kanye West, Me and My Mom all are above the age of 21 and openly love Lady Gaga. I’ll admit I liked her more when she was less popular about a year and a half ago and 13 year olds didn’t know who she was. Your right, it’s not really shocking what she does. Pop stars have been shocking audiences with sexuality for decades now. And really, it’s the same thing over and over again (note: Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Shakira, Rihanna, etc..)
But what turned me on was club ready music and the fact she wrote all the lyrics and even synth on her album. And she’s actually very intelligent and knows what she’s talking about. She was accepted into Clive Davis Department at NYU Tisch School of the Arts which is impossible to get into. About 28 people are accepted each year. And we are talking about people like Woody Allen, Martin Scorcese, Whoppi Goldburg, Oliver Stone, Angelina Jolie who have gone to NYU Tisch. If you listen to interviews (more than one) you will notice she is much much more intelligent than other pop stars like B. Spears or Katy Perry or even other celebrites.
Her voice could be better, but I don’t personally like the screechy Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera sound where it’s so much of holding high notes and just annoying. Here are some links to her playing piano (another thing I like, she’s classically trained and can play really well… I wouldn’t mind just listening to her play piano either)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9sLTG52N8o and another live song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5oMr8LLv6I
I also think a lot of the music is creative even if it is a little fluffed down. I think lines "I want to take a ride on your disco stick" (which she carries her own disco stick on stage [not a penis, a light up sceptor] is much more creative than "I kissed a girl and I liked it" and "I’m a slave for you" (BSpears) and "I want to get dirrty, gettin fired up in a hurry" (Christina Aguilera)
All in all, I think she’s an interesting person with a fresher perspective and very kind and nice and if you watch radio interviews or maybe older ones you’ll see she has a great personality (I know she can be weird) but mostly, down to earth person who I would want to learn from. She has been working and promoting her album for over a year and she’s already pumped out 6 music videos and toured the world, and it’s amazing to know… she said about a year ago she won’t stop and she’ll be on tour nonstop for atleast the next two years and you know what she wasn’t lying.
Can I feed my corn snakes a mouse that was defrosted then refrozen?
Posted By: admin // Category: Home-FluffingI’m a little worried about feeding my two 8-9month old corn snakes fluffs that I bought in town the other day. My problem is by the time I got the frozen mice home, they had defrosted, I put them in the freezer as soon as I could but I’m now really apprehensive about feeding them to the snakes.
Would giving them defrosted then refrozen mice cause them any harm or should I throw them out and buy new mice??
Were they fully defrosted or just the outer layer? If they were still fully cold and mostly frozen, they should be fnie. How far are you driving for these mice???? Frozen mice should stay almost completely frozen for hours. If nothing else, the outer layer will thaw partially making the package wet, but the rest of the mouse is still frozen. Condensation does not mean that the mouse is completely thawed out. I think they’ll be fine.
Any ideas about entertaining kids at a Stuff N Fluff workshop?
Posted By: admin // Category: Home-FluffingJust started a new home based business conducting travelling Stuff N Fluff workshops and birthday parties where children choose and stuff their own plush animals. I am having great success.
(Email me for more information if you’re interested).
Anyways, I am looking for additional ways to entertain the children who stuff more quickly while the others finish. Any ideas?

I have a home made speaker box that sounds excellent. and It is ported. I want to make sure that what I did to insulate it was right.
I placed some acoustic insulation on the top panel, bottom panel, and on the back panel paralell with the port. I fluffed it in. What I am trying to get across is that I did not insulate the entire box.
It sounds great but i was wondering if I could get it to sound better by insulating different or will it not make too much of a difference. thanks.
I have ported with a tube.
If you want the Bass to have a little more punch, and sound "bassier" then go to a craft store and buy pillow stuffing, or quilt stuffing. fit as much as you can in the box. just keep it off the speaker contacts
Where can I find a good home page with news? I’m sick of all the ads and entertainment fluff in the new Yahoo

comcast.net. It has some news, but no where like yahoo does.
Is Yahoo trying to re-spin the economy after the stimulus passed?
Posted By: admin // Category: Home-FluffingNew jobless claims down slightly to 632,000 new claims?
Retail sales rise 1%?
Home foreclosures down slightly?
Does the media have any fault in the financial down turn, in accurate stories, inaccurate reporting and fear mongering? Will they now fluff their stories to try to right the ship for Obama?
The media lost all objectivity long ago.
What is a great cat shampoo/conditioner for removal of oil and fluffing up my mainecoons fur?
Posted By: admin // Category: Home-FluffingI have a great cat that I took in from a neglective home. He is a white mainecoon. We removed all of the mats. His fur has grown back in and is brushed often. I would like to know what kind of Feline shampoo/conditioner works good for oily flattenned fur so he can be even more comfortable. I am hoping to be able to fluff him up a little better.
Well first off, you should NEVER brush a longhaired cat. Brushes do very little to remove the loose hairs of the undercoat and can pull out and break the topcoat hairs. You should be COMBING the coat and doing so at least every other day all year long. A comb will gently remove the loose hairs of the undercoat and leave the topcoat intact. This is the type of comb to use http://www.fidoandfelixpetcare.co.uk/img/products/finecoarsecomb.jpg Most pet stores don’t have them in the Cats section since most pet stores don’t have a clue about grooming longhaired cats. You’ll find them in the Dogs section. I prefer this one from Bamboo as the teeth rotate and they’re very long so it even works great on my Persian’s coat whose fur is VERY long http://www.superpetstore.com/images/Bamboo-Rotating-Medium-Coarse-Tooth-Comb-RP-DAM810004.jpg
For degreasing believe it or not the best thing to use is GOOP hand cleaner! Persian breeders/owners use this in their show baths to get the coat as fluffy as possible. You start off with a dry, well-combed coat and use as much of the GOOP as needed to completely cover the coat. Gently squeeze it in – don’t rub – as you’ll end up tangling the coat. Wait 5 minutes, then rinse the cat.
If the coat was REALLY greasy – from outside dirt or just lack of grooming – you can then follow with a shampoo with Dawn or Ivory dish soap. This will further degrease the coat.
For the regular shampoo ShoSno would be perfect. This one’s a great whitening shampoo and I swear by it. It’s VERY low sudsing so it’s really easy to rinse out. I haven’t seen it at pet stores, though. I buy mine online http://www.jeffersequine.com/ssc/product.asp?CID=1&pf_id=2540
Last step after you’ve rinsed the coat well is one more rinse with a 1/3 cup vinegar mixed in. This will break down any remaining soap residue in the coat.
When you bathe the cat do so in a sink – not the tub. MUCH easier on your back plus with a sink you can fill it about half way for the final and "float" the coat – slosh water around and under the individual hairs so the cat’s fur floats – showing it’s free of soap residue.
Speaking of Self Education or information type books. When you really want to get to the guts in a book, you can’t. Sometimes they drag out a personal story for 15 pages. "I was walking down the street in my home town and…. "Then another story about jack and jane, then another. Then about 1/4 way through the book you are board with it. Why all the fluff. Why don’t they directly write to the reader and break everything down?
Stories are used to connect the reader to the author. Most are vague and easy to relate too. A lot of them I don’t like either, and when you read college text books every single chapter starts with a story. Sometimes they give good insight to the topic but can be boring and drag on i agree.
where to buy stuffing for the plushie I am making?
Posted By: admin // Category: Home-FluffingHi there crafty people!
Does anyone know which stores carry the fluffy stuff that goes inside of a stuffed animal? I am sewing a little stuffed monster (kinda like a home-made ugly doll) for my daughter who’s away for a week as a welcome back gift. I’ve never made anything like that and don’t know where to go to get the fluff that goes inside of the doll/monster. Does Michaels carry stuff like that? Any suggestions?
Thanks all!
The fluffy stuff inside soft toys is called kapok – a craft shop or a wool/dressmakers shop should have it.
