How did you deal with home sickness the first time you got sick away from home?
Author: admin | Category: Home-FluffingI moved out on my own for the first time back in May, and for the most part I’ve been adjusting very well to the new lifestyle. However, I seem to be coming down with what feels like the flu, and it wasn’t until now that I became really homesick. I guess I’m just missing that motherly comfort I might have taken for granted when I had it. Someone to fluff the pillows just right and know just what kind of soup to put on the stove, etc.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? How did you get the home sickness under control so that you could focus on dealing with the real sickness?
Try doing some of the things that your mom did for you that liked. When I was a kid the only time we’d have 7up in the house was when I was sick. I also liked Campbell’s chicken noodle soup. We never ate those things unless we were sick because they are good sources of fluids. The familiarity is comforting for me even now that I’m an adult. Is there someone who can go get a few comfort foods for you?

Don’t know why this is in Pregnancy, but that’s okay. I still have homesickness for my home state (Washington) and I now have been away from there for 6 years. (Live in AZ now.) I haven’t found a way to cure it or anything, except keeping busy and trying to keep my mind off of it all. One way is to do things that remind you of home more actually. It works for me sometimes. Like.. I used to bake all the time, I try to do that when I feel pretty bummed and homesick.

I am 25 and still get homesick. well not so much any more cause I just moved into the house almost next to my parents..lol but before i moved I lived like and hour and a half away and I HATED it.
I don’t think I would be able to move to far away. My parents and I are really close and My mom is like my best friend!!
