whats the money like
As a business for yourself? If you can hook up with a realtor or two, you could do very well for yourself.
Your fee (not including any accessories or rentals) could range anywhere from $350.00 – $1,000.00 (and higher) depending on the house, the area, and how much you have to do.

I love the idea of it!
I think it IS necessary, especially around the holidays. I personally know some stagers, but they are unfortunately floundering. The average consumer that I deal with as a designer doesn’t differentiate between a "designer" and a "stager". They expect it to come in one package. I would personally advertise that staging was a service I offer, not my main event.
I think in a few more years the concept of a stager will come to maturation and be very acceptable and a natural extention of the decorating process. Your company could be on the cutting edge, but sometimes riding that edge slices you in the butt.
