I’ve tried house training my golden retriever pup using a few programs, but none of them have worked.
I looked at this program here:

I found it in a blog about house training golden retrievers, and it looks good, but I don’t know if its just another one of those books full of fluff.
Can you tell me if its good? and if not, what would you recommend?
Thanks
Take the dog out every two to three hours for about a month. When you are not accompanying the dog have it in a kennel (large enough for it to stand it but no more than 1.75 its length. What you are doing here is training the do that out side is where you do your deed. Dogs do not like to go in their personal space, so they should not go in the kennel. Then the following month take the dog out every four to five hours, and again in the kennel when not attended. Then for the next month do every five to six hours. Every time the dog goes inside, go back one step. For example if you are taking the dog out every five to six hours go back to every four to five. When you feel it is time, i.e. no mishaps you can let the dog out of the kennel when alone. They should be house broken by this point. It takes patience and time, but works. My mom worked with show dogs, and the kennel is your best tool. To make them more comfortable with the kennel cover it with blankets to feel more like a den.

Ok! You have to make up a scedule for eating and pody time. For example at 8:00am you feed him/her after you take him outside leave him outside untill he goes then you have to reward him at 4:00pm feed him then take him outside wait untill he goes then reward him. Every time he goes pody in the house scold him show him what he did wrong then take him outside for 5 minutes. After a couple weeks he might get the hang of the scedule and he’ll learn.
