I have a wolf and a rabbit, what can be done with all the extra fur? preferably in a recyclable manner?
Author: admin | Category: House-FluffingThey both shed way to much, the wolf has 20% siberian husky mixed so he is everywhere. I’m going to have to shorten his hair to be cooler this summer and would love to do something constructive with it. the rabbit has hair fluffs picked and brushed up all over the house. what could be made from it, and what would I need to do it with, tools, mechanisms etc.?
They get along great together also cause Haniah(the wolf) even slept in Patches(the bunny)cage right after he was winged, so I guess the wolf considers the rabbit part of his pack and will actually protect it, believe it or not.
Its not recommended to shear dogs during the summer, contrary to what us humans think, their coat actually keeps them protected from the sun and heat.
What you can do for both, is keep brushing and I mean every day. You can use the fur to spin and make yarn, simply weave, crochet or knit a project.

first, let the wolf eat the rabbit. that will reduced some of the fur. then give the wolf to some one you really dislike. problem solved. no need to thank me.

If they are shedding you can place the fur in various trees, and birds will use it for there nests.

Their hair is multi-purpose:
1.It keeps heat in, in the winter.
2.It keeps wet out in the rain.
3.It keeps heat out in the summer.
So if you shave the dog you will just be making it hotter. Don’t wet them down; when you wet them you can cook them by raising their temperature higher. I don’t know about the rabbit.
Nature has spent millions of years adjusting the dogs to this…don’t mess with it.
What you can do is get a small child’s pool, if they are so inclined they can walk in the 3 to 4 inches of water and cool their feet. By panting and through their feet are the only two ways a dog can release heat. I don’t know abut a rabbit.

There’s an entrepreneur in California who will spin your pet’s hair into yarn. I’m sure you can find her online.

Spread it over your back yard or a park field in the spring.
There are many types of birds that use all kinds of hair in their nest. It is fun to watch them pick it up.

If every day you take a wet cloth and wipe both of them down less fur will come off of them during the day.
