What’s are some tips you have on keeping your house clean?
Author: admin | Category: House StagingI have 3 children (between 3 & 6). I still know it’s possible to keep a clean house though. I go through stages. Sometimes it clean, other times… not so much. I guess I’m answering my own question, be consistent!
Just wanted to know what things you have found that make cleaning or keeping your house clean easier.
(i.e. I wash clothes according to how they will be put up, kids one load, parent another)
I first clean as I go along with whatever I am doing at the time, clean after every use of appliances etc whatever I use I clean right away then it is clean for next use
I then use household natural products to clean and never buy any store bought commercial cleaners use products you would find in your pantry such as Baking soda, White Vinegar, Lemons, even toiletries like Shave Creams, Baby Shampoo, products of this kind get use to clean and freshen my home, I also make many cleaners using the ingredients described above, no store bought cleaners as these do not clean well but have found that products I find normally in the food pantry or toiletries clean just as well and are alot safer and last the longest for a lot less money. You can also use empty spray bottles to carry around with you to make it easier to clean your home with your homemade cleaners Good Luck !

I like to have labels on several laundry baskets so that only sertain items go in each. like this
towels
socks and undies
whites
jeans
darks
delicates
This way when I do laundry it is pre-sorted and I just dump the basket into the washer.

It sounds a little nuts, but I clean on a daily schedule. I’m a full time housekeeper so the last thing I want to do at the end of the day is spend a lot of time cleaning another house, so I do one thing everyday. Laundry on Sunday, dust on Monday, bathrooms on Tues, Floors on Wed, etc… Also my 11 year old son helps by keeping his own room clean and folding and putting away his laundry.

Give the 6 year old a couple of chores, such as putting away toys and perhaps even making her bed.
By all means, consistency is the key here! If you get used to doing certain chores at certain times, you won’t even notice what’s going on.
Convenient bottles of cleaner help a lot: I keep a diluted bottle of Lysol in the kitchen, and another in the bathroom. In the morning I grab a cleaning rag- and when I’m done with the bathroom I spray it down with Lysol and wipe it down. It never gets really dirty now. I also keep a diluted bottle of white vinegar in the bathroom for wiping down the mirrors when they need it.
While you’re doing your laundry is a perfect time to do other chores- especially if you turn off other distractions such as the television and computer.
Wash dishes and clean your kitchen right when you get done eating: That way the dishes won’t pile up and become scary either.
Avoid clutter as much as you can. Have a place for everything and keep everything in its place.
Good luck!

I keep a roll of papertowels in each bathroom under the sink…and one glass cleaner, toilet cleaner etc …. so it’s all handy, also, in the kitchen i keep kitchen cleaning supplies there.
I do a little at a time….Monday I thought my floors needed a cleaning so I did the floors…then I did some dusting the other day. Laundry is teh never ending battle and I tend to do a bunch of loads one day on the weekend, although I prefer to do one load a few times a week. I am 8 wks pregnant right now and run out of steam in the evenings, so I wish my house was a little cleaner right now! I feel a little at a time helps

Just do a little cleaning each day, put a load of clothes in and play with your children. For me playing with children is more important than a clean house. My children are grown now and I keep my house cleaner. I do think its important to teach children to clean their rooms and put up toys.

My children are 18,11,6,and 5 ….I involve my children with cleaning, I play music to motivate them.. the chores thay get are appropriate for their ages, I supervise, and i might occasionally have to chean up behind the little ones, since i don’t want to critize their work.. I try to make it joyful..kids will be kids and on ocassion I’ll get a complaint but it is very rare..
the oldest pick up clutter in all rooms, load and unload the dishwasher, they clean the bathroom, dinningroom. I do the kitchen, and the little one’s pick up after them selves mostly, they pick up clutter in the family room, dust and polish furniture, they like picking up the dirt with the dust pan and small broom.. and our home is done… in about 2hrs.. we have a two bedroom home.. they also help outside with the garage, front and backyard gardening/cleaning.. they love pulling weeds…with the pool cleaning etc… make it a family affair! you wont regret it… small children can be trained to like to clean just don’t critize, praise, praise, praise some more… home this helps..
