If laid direct in the ground and a warning tape laid above 450mm or 18" is OK

depending on where you live. the frost level. is the depth that water will freeze in the winter time. I live in indiana. the depth would be about 2.5- 3 feet. I have a suggestion. call that phone number that tells you "call before you dig" and ask them. they only put the cable tv about 6" under. you are allowed to call the "county building inspector" on the phone and the will tell you the answer for your county. if it were me. I would make it about 6" deep. because. It doesn’t matter if electric cable gets frozen or not.
so. look in the phone book . for county
    "building inspector" and ask him/her.

In the UK good practice is 18 inches.

I particularly like the idea of running it in a length of 2" waste pipe, so you can run other services through at a later date. If you do this please make sure you clearly identify it as electrical though, in case someone digs it up later.

Whatever you do, do not lay it in yellow or blue MDPE pipe! Yellow is for mains gas and blue is for water. We don’t want the gas or water supply companies cutting through the pipe, then getting electrocuted.

About 1ft should suffice but to be sure then you can consult
the IEE onsite guide (possible available online if you google it)
