how do i build a shed in my backyard?

i want like a little closet room to myself, like not to live in or anything, but i want a room the size of a tool shed to hang out in with my friends. so how could i build a shed like that?

You should definitely build it yourself, rather than getting a pre-made one. You’ll save heaps of money.

Do you have any wookworking experience? If not, it doesn’t really matter because they’re pretty simple to construct. If it’s your first shed, I’d recommend that you get hold of some readymade shed plans to make it easier – they’ll tell you exactly what you need to do and what you need.

I’d also recommend installing some insulation to ensure it doesn’t get too cold in there (though this obviously depends where you live).

My blog (below) will give you some things to think about.

Find out if there are set back requirements and size issues from your town before starting so they don’t make you tear it down or mive it.

supposing that money is not an issue, and that you really want to do that, i would say you need a concrete platform, of about 10-20 cm thick, i would build it on woden pillars , timber on the outside, nicely painted … and if you want to use it summer time .. you you can even get an electric socket in there, a electric radiator, walls insulation! light and all! the question is not clear enough …. if YOU want to build it! the fact that you want you build and asking this … shows you should not do it .. :) it`s a serious thing … you might be able to get a tight space to squeeze in … with your friends .. but if you want something that would hold .. you need a builder …
or! try one of those sheds you can put together … from … ikea, and other garden shops ….

It really depends on how much time, effort, and money you are willing to put into it. I think the fast, low cost, and easiest way is a prefab plastic shed. The DuraMax 8X6 shed is under $400 dollars and could be constructed in 1 day. You could be hiding from your parents and taking bong hits in no time. You could even start a band and have an excuse to be out there with your friends raising hell. Jake
