Need a guess on how much a 15′x15′-12” concrete slab will cost in North Texas. I need to build a shed.
First of all, your slab will only need to be only 4 inches thick, not 12 inches unless there are some special circumstances. At 4 inches thick, you will need about 3 cubic yards for a 15×15 foot square.
I’m assuming that you will do the work yourself, so you will need to buy
eight 2×4′s for the forms, some stakes to hold the forms in place, and the concrete. Concrete is about $135 a cubic yard, so figure around $500 for the material. If you put in rebar or wire, which you probably won’t need to do since it is just for a shed, the cost will go up a little.

First off, why do you want it 12" deep?
Call your concrete supplier and ask them. They have all the figures.
Even if you plan on mixing and pouring yourself, they will give you the figures. (Just don’t tell them).

First I don’t thin you need a 12" thick slab for a shed. All most all the slab we do are 3.5" to 4". Use fiber mesh instead of wire mesh. One yard of concrete will cover about 80 sq ft. We charge about $450 per yard including material and labor. The mud cost us about $90 per yard from the plant delivered. You might need engineered hold downs or at least anchor bolts (1/2 x 10 J bolts), every 48" on center.

if it is a floating slab it is usually about a foot deep around the perimeter and four inches throughout the rest so if you figure the square footage and call the concrete plant they will give you an estimate. Hard to say if we dont know how much a yard of concrete is in texas.

for a shed you dont need 12 in. , even around the edges…go 4 in. all the way and it will be fine…should be able to find someone to do the whole thing for 1200 – 1500 dollars…
