Is this enough/correct of a roof pitch?
For geographical reference we live in Southern Michigan. We are planning on building a storage shed that will be used as a shelter out in our pasture for our animalsThe building will be 12 ft x 24 ft and for the roof we want the front height 8ft and the back height 6ft. So the roof will decrease 2ft over 12ft. Is this enough/correct roof pitch? If not what would you suggest?
i live in southern michigan too and yes we get a lot of snow at times. i used a 2 / 12 pitch on my car port and its working out just fine. i used 2x8's 16" on centers with 2x4 purlins running across the rafters. i used the metal panels like is used for pole barns for the roofing material. the standard roofing shingles can not be used unless you have at least a 4 / 12 pitch. use either rolled roofing or the metal panels. if you use metal panels put a bead of silicone where they join and it will be water tight.

yes the pitch will be fine
