can i use someone path to maintain my shed wall?

at the back of my garden is my shed. The outer wall runs along a neighbours path. Am i allow onto the path to paint my shed and wooden fence

Ask permission first if you plan to use your neighbors path. He is not required to give you access from his property. Throw down some drop cloths to catch the paint as a show of respect.

Of course, but have the courtesy of telling your neighbour you are going to do so and ask them when its convenient.

I am sure if you ask politely they will give you permission to come on to their garden . After all it is to their benefit that your shed looks as good as it can

I dont think there is really an ‘of course’ about this, whilst it would be un neighbourly to say no I believe the next door would be within rights to say no. If it were a garden fence it may be different as it would then be to mutual benefit(ignoring the appearance of the shed)
